When it comes time to get Easter gifts for kids, toddlers can be tricky. They've outgrown all their Easter gifts for babies and can do so much more developmentally now, but parents still have to be wary of small parts (which can be choking hazards) or complicated toys (which they might not have the coordination to use). Plus, gifts for toddlers have to be extra fun, otherwise they'll be tossed aside without a second thought.

With all that in mind, these are the best Easter gifts for toddlers in 2023, from big-ticket items to small basket fillers. Some of them are Good Housekeeping Institute award winners, pleasing kids while impressing parents and experts alike. Those items were tested in the Labs for safety and ease of use, then passed along to real kids to make sure they're actually fun. Then we added in editor's favorites, best-sellers and other seasonally appropriate items. Since toddlers love to hug and squeeze, there are plenty of stuffed animals. Bunnies, chicks, lambs and other springtime motifs abound. And then there are one or two items that are really gifts for parents of toddlers — but we'll never let them know it. Choose from the list, and toddlers will be on their way to having an egg-cellent Easter.

Most egg shakers are for children ages 3 and older, but HABA has designed their specifically with toddlers in mind. Each one makes a different sound (rattle, click, jingle, or chirp), and it's calibrated to not be so loud, which is better for tiny ears (and your sanity). Ages 2+

Gift your little ones eggs they're actually allowed to crack, like these colorful eggs that reveal adorable chicks. When kids press on the chicks' heads, they chirp. Toddlers can then sort them by color, or match them to the correct base in the egg carton. You can also get the Toomies Hide & Squeak Nesting Eggs to go with it — it's a set of five eggs that can fit into each other like a matryoshka doll. Ages 6 months+
