35 Best Baby Halloween Costumes That Are Perfect for 2022
Cute, funny and easy ideas for any newborn or infant.
You only get one or two Halloweens before your kid decides what they want their Halloween costume to be. But for their first couple of outings? You're in total control, and you get to pick that ultra-adorable baby Halloween costume.
Some things to consider when choosing a baby Halloween costume: The American Academy of Pediatrics advises parents to look for costumes that won't trip up those early walkers (so make sure the shoes fit well and nothing too long hangs down), are made with flame-resistant materials, have hats that don't slide down over eyes and don't come with sharp accessories that can poke. For babies, you can skip the masks (you want to show off their sweet faces anyway), and you should check the costumes for loose strings or holes that can tangle or trap small fingers and toes. And easy diaper changes (and perhaps a backup outfit) are a good idea if you want to save yourself from some "tricks" later.
Within those parameters, though, there's still a big range to choose from, from favorite costumes from popular culture like Star Wars and Stranger Things to those fuzzy animal one-pieces that make them look like huggable stuffed animals. And, if you have other kids in your party you need to dress, we have ideas for toddler costumes and big-kid costumes, too. (Or maybe you want to get in on the act and make it a family costume?)
What big eyes your baby has! Whether you're going to Granny's house or not, this costume makes a bright, bold statement. You can buy the tutu apron and cape together, or you can get one or the other.

Your baby is nothing if not a Wild Thing, so throw this on and let the wild rumpus begin. The costume is in two pieces: the bodysuit with an attached tail, and the hood with the crown.
To the moon! Your baby will feel like they're floating in space with this costume, which includes diaper snaps for easy changing. It also comes in pink.
Now that your baby has hatched, celebrate their first Halloween with this feathery chicken costume. You can get just the crocheted hat, or a combo of the hat, the feathered romper and the booties/spats. You just need some overalls and a flannel shirt and you can go as the farmer.
Get Carter's yellow raincoat, tie a red balloon to the stroller and — boom! — an instantly terrifying transformation into Georgie from It. Keep your eyes out for Pennywise.
Baby? Cute. Baby duck? Cute. Baby dressed as baby duck? TOO CUTE. With this costume, you get the romper, tights, shoe-covers and headpiece. Quacking is all you.
Some like it hot, so why not dress up your baby in your favorite condiment? If sriracha isn't to your taste, you can also get bodysuits for ketchup, mustard and relish. (It's a great idea for multiples!)
Clever girl! Mom and Dad can dress up as Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler for a Jurassic Park/Jurassic World-themed family costume that's been 60 million years in the making. You can also go for the hatching Velociraptor or the hatching pterodactyl costumes.
To turn your baby into a tasty treat, try a sushi costume that comes with a ginger-and-wasabi headband. Not into shrimp? There's also a salmon costume. They come in toddler sizes, too, and you can even get one for your pup for a matching family.
The best time to dress your child as Raggedy Ann: When they're still small enough to be carried around like an actual doll. This listing is just for the wig — the outfit is sold separately (or you can just use a blue dress with a white pinafore).
This stretchy, one-piece costume is so easy, they can wear it to infinity and beyond — and, with the new Lightyear movie, they're going to want to! Then again, if you're more of a down-to-Earth family, there's also a Woody equivalent.
Sure, we're still reeling from the most recent batch of Stranger Things episodes. But babies are more of a match for Eleven's OG, Season 1 look, since their hair is usually the right fit. You just need this blue windbreaker, a smocked pink dress, tube socks — and some Eggos.
There's no doubt who the cutest baby in the galaxy is: yours. But if we had to pick a second choice, it would be Grogu, aka "Baby Yoda." And with this robe (complete with hand covers) and headpiece, they all can be one and the same!
